Fort Myers, FL · Lee County
Expert installation. Honest, fair pricing. Fort Myers has every kind of house a window installer can face: 1950s block homes along McGregor Boulevard, mid-century ranches near the River District, and newer communities off Daniels Parkway, Colonial Boulevard and Six Mile Cypress. Many still have the original aluminum single-hung windows or a tired slider that sticks every summer.
One call connects you with a licensed, insured window and door professional who works in Fort Myers every week. You get a free measure, a written quote with every line item shown, and an installer who pulls the permit and books the inspection.
From one stuck slider to a whole-house impact upgrade or a new-construction package.
Impact windows protect your home without shutters.
Impact Windows in Fort Myers →Foggy glass, sashes that won't stay up, water at the sill after a summer storm and an air conditioner that never stops: those are the usual signs a window is finished.
Window Replacement in Fort Myers →A sliding door that grinds, jumps the track or won't lock rarely needs replacing.
Sliding Glass Door Repair in Fort Myers →Your slider is the biggest opening in the house and the one most likely to fail in a hurricane.
Impact Sliding Glass Doors in Fort Myers →Your front door sets the look of the whole house, and in a hurricane it's one of the openings hit hardest.
Entry & French Doors in Fort Myers →On a jobsite, the window and door installer is one of the trades everyone else waits on.
Builders & Developers in Fort Myers →Most Fort Myers homes are concrete block. A replacement window sits in a wood or composite buck anchored into the block, and on older homes that buck is often rotted or out of square. A good installer checks every opening, replaces bad bucks, anchors to the product approval's installation instructions and seals the perimeter so water can't get behind the stucco.
Ask your installer how they handle damaged bucks and whether the quote includes stucco and paint touch-up. Those two items cause most of the surprises on older homes.
Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, and impact products are made to order. Get on the schedule early.
Call now (239) 251-5740Addresses inside the city limits are permitted through the City of Fort Myers. Unincorporated areas such as Iona, McGregor south of the city and Gateway go through Lee County. Either way, the application lists each opening on a floor plan, shows the Florida Product Approval for each unit and the design pressures it must meet, and marks the bedroom escape windows.
Lee County asks for a Notice of Commencement when the job is over $5,000, which most whole-house window jobs are. Your licensed installer handles the paperwork and the final inspection.
Ian's surge and wind in September 2022 left many Fort Myers homes with damaged openings, and plenty were patched rather than fixed. If a window still leaks at the sill, fogs between panes or doesn't lock square, it's worth having it measured now, well before the next hurricane season starts on June 1.

Fort Myers is the county seat of Lee County, set on the south bank of the Caloosahatchee River about 15 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. It began as a U.S. Army post in 1850, during the Seminole Wars, and was named for Colonel Abraham C. Myers; the town incorporated in 1885. Thomas Edison built his winter home here in the 1880s, and his friend Henry Ford later bought the house next door. The Edison and Ford Winter Estates still sit on McGregor Boulevard, lined with the royal palms that earned Fort Myers the name "City of Palms." Today the city runs from the brick streets and riverfront of the downtown River District out to Gateway, Daniels Parkway and Six Mile Cypress, and its homes range from 1920s bungalows and mid-century block houses to brand-new builds, each with its own window and door needs.
Replacement openings must meet Florida Building Code wind requirements, either with impact-rated glass or with approved shutters. Most Fort Myers homeowners choose impact windows so there's nothing to put up before a storm.
The install itself is usually one to three days for a typical home. The longer part is ordering: impact products are made to size and often take several weeks, so start early.
They may. After an upgrade, a wind mitigation inspection on the state's form (OIR-B1-1802) documents your opening protection, and many insurers give a discount for it. Ask your agent what they credit.
Your licensed installer does, through the City of Fort Myers or Lee County depending on your address, and the cost is listed on your quote.
Get a written, line-item quote so you can see product, permit, disposal and finish work separately. Ask about phasing (the most exposed openings first) and financing. A licensed and insured installer who gets the permit right the first time also avoids costly redo work.
